Leamington is full of.....ART this Summer

What a wonderful summer it has been. Not for the weather obviously, but for Warwickshire based art activities. In June we had the opportunity to explore all the different Warwickshire Open Studios. With over 150 different studios to explore, what a fantastic event that was! At Slate we had the opening of our photography competition and exhibition, with over 17 different Photographers exhibiting. On the opening night we had over 70 people through the door who all voted for their favourite photograph. I’m excited to find out who the winner of the People’s Choice Award is when the exhibition ends next week on the 17th of August, so make sure you pop by and vote before then!

This past weekend I closed the gallery to attend, and support, the ‘Art In The Park’ festival in Jephson Gardens. What an amazing weekend this was! Art, music, theatre, food, and drinks! What better way is there to spend a weekend in Leamington Spa?! I would like to say huge congratulations to Carole Slight and her incredible team of volunteers. They did a truly amazing job creating and implementing this event.

As I mentioned above the photography exhibition has one more remaining week on display. I am then installing a wonderful exhibition called ‘Slate and Sea’. This will incorporate everything wonderful about going on holiday, particularly to the seaside. I know that a lot of people will have had a chance to get away this summer, but some, like me, will not have, and that is why I have chosen to create this exhibition to bring the holiday feeling to you. Opening night is Friday August 18th from 6:30-9:00pm, I look forward to seeing everyone there.
