Grand Opening

Slate Art Gallery had its grand opening nearly a week ago, and what a week it has been. I can't say thank you enough to everyone who joined me on Friday to celebrate this new art adventure.

It has been guessed that throughout Friday evening there was over 90 people in attendance. That figure is staggering, and again THANK YOU Warwickshire. What a lovely way to start my new creative art adventure.

This exhibition is a combination of artists who I have worked with over the years and who have supported me so much the last few months, mixed with some very talented artists from further afield.

On Friday morning, as I was getting ready for the carnage that was to come, and I had a message from one of the exhibiting artists. It transpired that, before I had even opened I had sold a beautiful seascape from the window by the very talented Don Mason. This was particularly exciting because in the run up to opening Slate, Don, was always available to lend an ear and his support. Seems very fitting 'Chesil Sea' was Slate's first sale. Thank you Don, and all the artists who are exhibiting.

Next Exhibition Opening Evening is July 28th. I Can't Wait. This will be a photography competition and exhibition. I look forward to seeing all the local photography talent. If you would like to enter please email me for more details: kate@slateartgallery.co.uk

The current exhibition is still on until July 27th, stop in and take a look at the amazing work on display. Next week we also have a separate ticketed event called Art Uncorked. This is a great, fun event, for everyone. Please visit www.artuncorked.co.uk for more information.

I’ll sign off saying how much it means to hear people say "You have some truly beautiful work exhibited". Love my customers and their kind words. I look forward to seeing you at Slate soon!
